What We Believe

Who We Are

We are a local body of believers on mission to take the Gospel of Christ to the world. At Trinity, we believe in serving God by loving people because every person matters. We are here because of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19). We meet here on Sunday mornings to celebrate what God has done for His Church (God’s people) in corporate worship.  We firmly believe that our mission is on the other side of the doors of this building and we are committed to lives for Christ the rest of the week.    Our membership is composed of those who love the Lord and are willing to leave the minor points of the doctrine to their own conscience so that the Gospel won’t be hindered .  This doesn’t mean that we accept anything as truth, it means that we are willing to  seek it with you as it is defined by the word of God.

What We Believe

  •    Bible – The Word of God – We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original writings, complete as the revelation of God’s will for salvation, and the supreme and final authority in all matters to which they speak. (Matthew 5:17; Romans 15:4; 1 Corinthians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21; Hebrews 4:12).

  •    The Trinity – We believe in one God, creator and sustainer of all things, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; that they are equal in divine nature and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption.  (Genesis 1:26; Isaiah 6:8; Matthew 3:16-17;  Matthew 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14).

  •    God the Father – We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. (John 6:27; Acts 17:29; Ephesians 4:6; Hebrews 1:1-3).

  •    God the Son – We believe that Jesus Christ is God’s eternal Son, and has precisely the same nature, attributes and perfections as God the Father and God the Holy Spirit and that He is not only true God, but true man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.  His sinless life, His substitutionary atonement, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension into heaven, His priestly intercession on behalf of His people, and His personal, visible return from heaven. (Matthew 16:16; Luke 1:30-35; John 1:1-2, 1:18; 3:16; Hebrews 1:8).

  •    God the Holy Spirit – We believe in the Holy Spirit, His personality, and His work in regeneration, sanctification, and preservation. His ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and implement Christ’s work of redeeming the lost and empowering the believer for godly living and service. (John 16:7-13; 14:16-17; Acts 1:8, 5:3-4; 1Corinthians 2:10-11; 2 Peter 1:21).

  •    Man – We believe God created man, male and female, in the image of God and free from sin. We further believe man, as a result of Adam’s sin, is a sinner by nature and choice and is therefore spiritually dead and that those who repent of sin and trust Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:26; 2:7, 17; Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 3:10-18; 1 John 3:8).

  •     Salvation – We believe in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ that this salvation is based upon the sovereign grace of God, and was purchased by Christ on the cross, and is received by man, once forever, through faith, apart from any human merit, works, or rituals. (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 1:12;           2 Corinthians 5:21; Galatians 3:13; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 3:18).

  •     Resurrection of the Body – We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved and lost, the eternal existence of all men either in heaven or hell, in divine judgments, rewards, and punishments. (John 5:28; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelations 20:4, 11-15).
